Wynne Cha-Grinder was behind the bar talking to the very nice Cathy in when 15 club skippers met at Fairoaks Airport on September 30th. Here are Wynne's, slightly hazy, recollections....

What a pleasure this year. No really, what a pleasure. Not the weather, but most of the evening was about what we all enjoy about sailing.

Yes of course there were some important safety and housekeeping issues covered, but also trying to chart a course (ha-ha) to find what works for us as a club. For example:

  • a discussion about the summer cruise, the location and format. This was well received and suggestions made for future years
  • the move to Mercury Marina was thought to have worked well and saved the club money
  • a discussion about the new boat strategy for the club
  • skill bytes. How aspiring crew and skippers can gain experience of particular techniques and manoeuvres
